BIOGRAPHY

ARTISTIC CAREER

Let me introduce myself: my name is Teresa Implatini, I was born on December 6, 1963 in Milan; after twenty years living in the place of birth I moved to Sicily where I studied and graduated from the "Rosario Gagliardi" Academy of Fine Arts in Syracuse.

My passion for art has allowed my paintings to be part of the Visualcontainer (the first Italian video art platform for the promotion and distribution of artistic works since 2008). The selection is based on the ability of the works to express an aesthetic language in connection with the most current research of contemporary art and a poetic content capable of reflecting the problems and instances of the third millennium.

The collection was accompanied by the works of Armida Gandini , Patrizia Bonardi and the groups "Con.Tatto" and "Karin Bernini, Diego Parolini, Simonetta Lodesani", capable of expressing the dramas of life through their art, finding refuge in inner worlds accessible just beyond the canvas.

THEMES AND ARTWORKS

Although those depicted have different faces, each woman represents myself, my moods and my conflicts. Some of these paintings date back to almost 10 years ago and belong to a very particular period of my life, for this reason they became part of a series called "INSTABILI EQUILIBRI" (exhibited in the "Kò" Art Gallery) which includes : "Bio-illogica" , "Methamorphosi 1" and "Methamorphosi 2" .

Hair has a strong symbolic value in my paintings: they constitute the roots because they contain memories and, at the same time, they represent an "antenna" that connects to the sky. They symbolize the human "thread of the soul" , they are a projection of woman's ideas, thoughts and personality. Hair is often red, because red is the color of love and passion , but it is also the color of violence and blood. In the paintings there are often intertwining and textures that tie or cross the figures, they are the links, the bonds, but also subtle threads of hope .
